The beautiful vistas and wooded acres surrounding my home in the New River Valley of Southwest Virginia are inspirational and I find watercolor, especially "wet-on-wet" technique, is the perfect medium for representing the beauty of our Blue Ridge Mountains.
I love exploring the woods and banks of the river. This river valley where I live is home to an amazing collection of plants and animals and many of my watercolors celebrate my love of nature.
The New River Valley also has a rich historical heritage. Antiques create a window into that history and they often find their way into my paintings.
I also take great joy in painting charismatic cats and other special animal companions that share our lives.
